About Us

Who We Are
We feel fortunate to live in the beauty of the rural Pacific Northwest. We love being on and near the water. We also train and teach Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at a small-town club, Solarte BJJ. The proceeds from the rash guards and other merchandise go to support Solarte’s unique program. Although the club is a for-profit entity with membership subscriptions, Solarte BJJ has a policy of not turning anyone away due to inability to pay. They also offer self-determined sliding scales to suit the financial situation of each student or family.

Our Mission
Solarte’s instructors are passionate about sharing the benefits of training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. They want to ensure everyone in the community, both children and adults, has the opportunity to train. Solarte BJJ also aims to provide the highest quality training possible, despite its remote location. The concept-based instruction and games-based training methods are drawn from the latest research on effective learning and skills development. The small classes allow lessons to be tailored in a way that’s impossible at larger clubs. A high-level black belt instructor, Rob Biernacki, regularly visits the club to ensure that the club maintains high standards.
If you’d like to support the cause of a little club in the Pacific Northwest, please consider making a purchase at Rashguard Empire. Thank you for helping Solarte BJJ continue its mission of making excellent martial arts instruction available to everyone in our rural community!
